Runs

Runs

He breathes,
Like it does,
He runs,
Like it does,
He stands tall and proud,
Like it does,
He eats,
Like it does,
He drinks,
Like it does,
He sleeps,
Like it does,
On the ground,
Rolling around,
In its woodchips,
Who is the master,
Who is the boss,
He thinks he is,
But,
Really,
It is,
He wakes,
To see it,
He sleeps,
To see it,
In his dreams,
To him,
There can only be it,
His one true love,
He may have a lady friend,
He may have two,
But,
They are not an issue,
Not even relevant,
For it comes first,
And she,
They are second.

He hustles,
He bustles,
He draws them in,
His charming good looks,
That gentle stare,
That invisible rope,
He throws out to them,
Catching them,
Around their neck,
They see him,
His ugly face,
They turn,
And run,
His silver tongue,
Dodging bullets,
Wrapping itself,
Around that rope,
Lures them in,
Yet,
Still they despair,
And cry,
Looking anywhere,
But his golden eyes,
It’s impossible now,
The end is near,
They are caught,
In his trap,
Grudgingly placing,
One foot in front of the other,
Their head,
Their nostrils,
Flaring,
Yet,
Still they go,
His words,
Singing sweet music,
To their hungry ears,
He has them,
Tight in his embrace,
They struggle,
Their life,
Disappearing,
Through their toes.

Despite,
All his rage,
He’s just a rat in a cage,
He’s the only one,
He looks,
Why is she with him,
Why is he with her,
Why are they together,
And why is he with he,
Why is he the only one?
Now,
He’s there,
No one beside him,
No one near him,
He doesn’t know,
He’s so sorry,
He doesn’t know,
What he did wrong,
He doesn’t know,
How to fix it,
He doesn’t know,
How to climb out of that hole,
He’s dug for himself,
He’s at the bottom,
Of that pit,
Staring out,
At the moon above,
Wanting to grow,
Wanting to grip the sides,
Of the walls,
But he keeps on sliding down,
Tumbling and rolling,
Into a mess,
A mound on the floor below,
And so,
He sings that song,
He knows the best,
That song,
That was written about him,
That song,
That baby,
We all know,
Yet he lives,
That song,
Sung by 2ne1
Lonely,
He’s so lonely baby,
So lonely, lonely, lonely,
So lonely baby,
That story is his,
Written,
And directed,
By his tongue,
Alone,
In his bed.
