Fried

Fried

Curious
Learning
Humbled

Fried

Her eyes darting here,
Her eyes darting there,
Her eyes, looking in,
Her eyes looking out,
Her fingers touching,
Her fingers turning,
Her nose, smelling,
Her nose sneezing,
Her tongue tasting,
Her tongue reeling back,
Her toes dipping,
Her toes dancing,
Her mind leaping,
Her mind diving,
Pondering,
Where did it all begin,
Where did it all end,
Where does it all fit,
Like a song that’s living,
To rise,
Like a song that living,
And dying again,
She doesn’t understand,
But she wants to know more,
With a stone being left unturned,
No more.

She looks around,
Her trance has well and truly set in,
If life is living,
And if knowledge is a mystery,
Where does she fit in?
How does she get what she needs,
A thousand books in the library,
Endless resources on the internet,
All there for her to envelop
And devour,
Her thirst is only just setting in,
There’s too many people out there
For her to meet all,
To take what she needs,
Disregarding the rest,
There’s too much power,
For her to invest in,
Yet, she’ll take it,
She’ll take what she can,
She’ll see like an eagle,
And listen like a dog,
She’ll think like that goat,
Upon its mountain top,
Intuitively knowing,
What it is she should eat,
And knowing what it is,
She should leave behind.

She’s proud,
Of what she’s done,
Of what she’s achieved,
Of where she’s gone,
Of who she’s become,
She’s proud of where she’s going,
And of what could happen next,
Yet,
And yet,
She’s aware,
She’s grateful,
For those who have shared her path,
For those who have given a beauty
A helping hand,
She’s grateful that she need to look no further,
That that reflection on the window,
To see,
That her journey hasn’t been alone,
That, this path,
Is not unique, and new,
That, while she walks in a different spot,
Leaving different footprints,
That she’s going somewhere,
Where others have trodden before,
Although, she’s not unlike the rest,
She holds her head high,
Yet close to the earth,
Her feet,
Her toes,
play in the soft soil below,
And her ears,
Listen to that wind,
Passing by,
She knows,
She can’t do it alone,
She’s aware,
That without help,
She wouldn’t have gotten this far,
She knows,
That even though,
There maybe nobody around,
She is never alone.
