honey

The honey drops,

Which way does it flow?

Only the queen knows,

Its dew climaxes,

Forming a sweet white crust,

Life explodes from within,

Before a shattering silence,

Only tremors are felt.

The honey has settled and the hive is once again free

The sky has fallen,

My heart has stopped,

And you are but my light without a star

The honey crawls out from within its comb,

Dropping slilently onto the floors of the hive below,

Bees frantically swarm all over it,

Sucking up every last drop,

Then carefully depositing it into an empty hollow.

The larvae ravage all of the honey’s sweetness,

Relentlessly chasing that goal of maturing into a bee.
